From Which Material Are Socks Made?

Socks are one of the most underrated pieces of clothing; however, they should be given equal importance as we do to our dresses and footwear. When we talk about the material, most of the socks are made of a blend of various fabrics. While there are a huge variety of materials by which socks are made, the best and most common material is cotton and wool that are widely used.

Cotton
Cotton is the widely used material used for socks as it is lightweight, breathable, durable, and absorbs moisture. Cotton socks are easy to wash as well. Although cotton is one of the most expensive materials, it is widely used in making socks all over the world.

Wool
The second most used material for making socks is wool. The manufacturers use the premium quality of wool obtained from sheep and other animals. Socks made of wool are warm, wrinkle resistant, and breathable. These white socks are usually thicker and mostly used in winters. Wool is a great insulator and moisture absorbent.

Polyester
Polyester socks are also very common and less expensive. They are breathable, absorb moisture and dry quickly. Levis, Superdry, Adidas originals, Jack and Jones, and Timberland are the leading brands that manufacture men’s socks.

Silk
Silk is also used in the making of silk cool socks. Being the softest, most comfortable, and light, silk material socks are considered to keep your feet dry, cool and comfy all day long.
